Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci:

Mona Lisa is a piece of art done by Leonardo da Vinci that is described to be the most famous, recognizable and the most enigmatic paintings of all time. It is a painting that is said to be a portrait of a woman named Lisa Gherardini painted between the time period of 1503 and 1506. The size of the original painting is 77 x 53 cm (30 x 20 7/8 in) and is now owned by the Government of France, on a permanent display at the Louvre Museum in Paris since 1797.

Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer:

Girl with a Pearl Earring is one of the best artwork in the world painted by a Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer in the year 1665. It is a painting of a girl that is still mysterious and speculating around whether it is a painter’s mistress or one of his 15 children.

The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo:

In 2016, the people of Dutch selected this painting as the most beautiful painting in the Netherlands. The size of this painting is 44.5 cm (17.5 in) high and 39 cm (15 in) wide and is placed in Mauritshuis museum in The Hague since 1902.

One of the most replicated religious paintings and the best artwork in the world is this fresco painting done on the Sistine Chapel’s ceiling by the Italian artist Michelangelo. This iconic artwork took him around 4 years in making of the scene from the Old Testament of God creating the first man Adam. The iconic image of the God and Adam’s hand touching has been reproduced number of times.

Venus de Milo by Alexandros of Antioch:

This is a piece of art that was carved by Alexandros of Antioch and has survived for over 2100 years. It is older, but one of the best artworks of the world, representing the Greek Goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite. Made from the marble, this sculpture was carved around 100 BCE and was found in 1820 in a farmer’s field on the island of Milos and is now placed in the Louvre in Paris.
